New York State Assessment Information
-
Each spring, students in grades 3-8 take state assessments in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science (for grade 8 only). These tests help us see how well students are doing in line with the New York State Learning Standards.
It’s important to know that these test scores are just one part of how your student is doing. They don't show all the things your student is good at or their full potential. We see these results as one way to understand how we can help support your student and they won't be on their official school record.
You can see your student's scores on the SchoolTool Parent Portal at gateschili.org/SchoolTool. Under the "Assessments" tab in SchoolTool, you will find both the performance level and scale score for each test. If you need help getting into SchoolTool, we have posted step-by-step instructions at gateschili.org/ParentPortalAccess.
Below are sample reports that can be used to provide more detail about your student’s performance for each test. If you have questions about your student's performance or the report, please feel free to contact your student's assistant principal (names listed below). If you want to know more about these tests or the New York State Learning Standards, you can visit the NYSED website.
Should you have questions about your student's performance or the report, please feel free to contact your student's assistant principal.
