We are in the process of finalizing year-end procedures for Paul Road School.
With family and staff safety as our focus, we will be sharing information during the next two weeks on how computers will be returned and students can retrieve personal items left in classrooms before we began the extended COVID closure.
In the short term, we are asking for your help with the return of school library books. Currently, we have approximately 850 school library books checked-out to students. That is nearly 10% of our entire library collection. We are hoping you might consider dropping off any library books during the next two weeks so we can inventory them and start planning for book replacements.
There will be a large blue bin placed outside the main school entrance (Door #3) labeled "Library Book Return". The bin will be placed outside our school tomorrow (5/20) and Thursday (5/21). It will also be placed outside next week, Tuesday-Thursday (5/26-5/28). Please drop off between 7:30 and 11:30 for those days listed above.
Any books that we get returned are greatly appreciated. If there are other books that your child has from a classroom library for example, you can return those into that bin also.
Please know we really appreciate your help with this library book return project. I promise, once we finalize other year-end procedures with all GC principals and the superintendent, we will communicate them with you as quickly as possible.

Like you, our hearts are heavy each time there is a story in the news like the one this week about George Floyd. These acts of violence continue to create a massive rift in our society. It is my top priority as superintendent to provide a safe, caring environment for learning for all Gates Chili students.
