January Exam Information
Regular classes will be in session on Tuesday, January 24th through Thursday, January 26th. All students are required to attend. Students that have been scheduled to retake a Regents exam will be excused from class during the testing administration. Friday, January 27th is a scheduled Superintendent’s Conference Day and only students that have been scheduled to retake the Regents Chemistry exam, Regents Earth Science exam, or WEMOCO must attend. The first day of the second semester is January 30, 2023. It will be a C-Day.
Due to State Assessment regulations, electronic devices, including cell phones, are prohibited during testing. Students will not be allowed into testing sites with electronic devices. School phones will be available for student use. Proper identification will be required to pick up any confiscated electronics. The school is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. Please leave all cell phones and other electronic devices at home.
Copies of the examination schedule for the week are posted in grade level offices, cafeterias, through the link below and at security. If your son or daughter has any questions or concerns regarding the schedule, they should contact their classroom teacher or their counselor. In addition, the 2023-2024 Course Guide is available on-line under the High School’s Program of Studies quick link. Now is the time to begin planning a course schedule for the next school year.
Beginning with the Class of 2025, Gates Chili seniors will have the opportunity to earn distinctions at graduation through the Latin Honor System. Please click here for more information about the system.

Student of the Month is an academic award program at Gates Chili High School where each department identifies a student for outstanding achievement or for demonstrating leadership in the classroom. We believe that it is essential to recognize students that demonstrate high quality effort and learning.
Gates Chili Athletics is pleased to announce that varsity contests will be livestreamed by Varsity Media.
Due to the winter weather school closure on Friday, Dec. 23, all Gates Chili elementary schools will now operate on a half-day schedule on Friday, Jan. 27. This impacts all students in grades UPK-5.
The district e-newsletter is sent out each month and contains news and updates from around the district as well as current job openings and a list of upcoming events.
The food pantry, supported in partnership with Gates Chili Community Connections, is located at Gates Chili High School and will be open once a week each month.
Like the Gates Chili Spartans official online store, these new online shopping platforms will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Spartans there have spent the last several months growing their love of learning and the environment through the design and construction of an outdoor learning space. This student-led project is being guided by members of the Outdoor Club, an opportunity that first began this past spring.
Middle school science students took an out-of-this-world journey through space at the Challenger Learning Center of Greater Rochester, which is located inside the Kodak Center.
