HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is assigned on a regular basis in the Gates Chili Central School District to enable students to be academically successful.

Homework is a vital part of the learning process in that it provides an opportunity to practice skills learned in class, reinforces specific learning, teaches responsibility, encourages working independently, prepares students for new learning, and assists with evaluation of progress.

It is required that homework assignments be made up following absences within a time period agreed upon by the teacher and student. Homework expectations may be adjusted for students with identified learning difficulties.
