Gates Chili Central School District serves approximately 3,600 students across six schools: four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Our approximately 900 employees work together to support students and families in a vibrant, diverse community.

About GCMS
Gates Chili Middle School serves students in grades 6–8 during an important period of academic, social and personal growth.
Our school community is building on several important initiatives designed to strengthen relationships, expand opportunities and ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
The next principal will play an important role in sustaining this momentum, supporting staff and working collaboratively with students, families and district leaders.
Grade-level teaming: In 2025–26, the middle school implemented a grade-level team structure for all students, strengthening student-staff relationships, creating more consistent expectations and improving access to academic and elective opportunities.
Community Schools: Beginning in 2026–27, Gates Chili Middle School joined the district's expanding Community Schools initiative, connecting students and families with resources, services and community partnerships that help remove barriers to learning.
Student engagement: The district's Distraction-Free Schools initiative provides more than 400 uninterrupted minutes each school day for students to focus on learning, build relationships and engage with one another.
A commitment to continuous improvement: Through the district's strategic priorities, Gates Chili Middle School continues to strengthen its systems of academic, behavioral and social-emotional support while creating a culture where every student feels connected and valued.
