Gates Chili BOE appoints Troy Olin as deputy superintendent

The Gates Chili Central School District has appointed Troy Olin as deputy superintendent.

Olin has served the Gates Chili community for more than 19 years and brings over two decades of experience in education. Olin’s longstanding service in the district, combined with his experience across multiple leadership roles, positions him well to support the district’s ongoing work and future planning.

Throughout his career in Gates Chili, Olin has held a variety of roles including teacher, assistant principal, director of technology and, most recently, assistant superintendent for instruction. His leadership has supported key district initiatives, including literacy, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and efforts to promote equitable outcomes for all students.

Through his leadership and collaboration with staff across the district, this work has contributed to measurable improvements in student outcomes, including gains in literacy, reductions in suspensions and increased graduation rates. He has also led the development of aligned K–12 systems for curriculum, assessment and student support, helping bring greater consistency and coherence across the district.

“Troy brings a deep understanding of our district and a strong commitment to supporting students, staff and our school community,” said Superintendent Dr. Mitchell Ball. “His leadership and experience will help us continue the important work already underway across Gates Chili.”

Olin’s appointment reflects the district’s continued focus on strong, collaborative leadership and building coherence across its systems and practices. In his new role, he will work closely with district and building leaders to support teaching and learning, strengthen systems and ensure the continued success of Gates Chili students.
