Deadline Extended to Friday, Jan. 23!

Gates Chili is seeking community members to serve as Budget Ambassadors for the development of the 2026-27 school budget. This is a great opportunity for district residents to learn more about the budget process and provide valuable input to the Board of Education.

Ambassadors will review the preliminary 2026-27 budget as developed by the administration within parameters established by the Board of Education and recommend to the BOE any modifications they would like to see. Their recommendations, while highly valued, are advisory rather than binding and the BOE develops the proposed budget that will be presented to the community at-large.

📆 Meeting Commitment
Ambassadors will serve on a committee that meets for up to three evening sessions (2.5 hours each) with the superintendent and assistant superintendent for business:
  • Monday, March 9 at 6 p.m.
  • Monday, March 16 at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. (if a third meeting is needed)
✅ Who Can Apply?
  • No prior budget experience required
  • Must be a resident of the Gates Chili Central School District
  • Space is limited to 15 participants, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis
