No-tax-impact capital project approved by voters

The results are in, and residents of the Gates Chili Central School District voted to approve the district’s proposed capital project with no tax impact.

More than 300 district residents exercised their right to vote, with 238 voting "yes" and 74 voting "no” to the proposed work, a more than 76% approval.

The capital project, now approved by the voters, supports work in four categories: failing infrastructure needs, renovations, replacements and new work. These improvements will ensure our schools remain safe, efficient and inspiring environments for students and staff. Visit gateschili.org/CapitalProject to learn more about the scope of the plan, the proposed timeline and about the district’s partners in this extraordinary project.

Additionally, voters approved proposition 2 on the ballot, which authorizes the district to use capital reserve funds for security infrastructure. Voters approved prop 2 with a 248-61 vote, with more than 80% approval.

We’re grateful to members of our community for their participation in the process; from joining the district at community forums to learn more about the proposal, to making their voices heard at the ballot box. We believe in being Future Ready for our Spartan community, and we thank you once again for your confidence in the Gates Chili Central School District.
