For the first time in nearly 30 years, the Gates Chili Girls Track and Field team brought home a Section V Championship! Their score of 135 points was 56 points more than their second-place competition in the May 28 contest.

Individual sectional champions include Savana Henry in the discus throw, Abby Unson in shot put, Kyra Pellegrino in the steeplechase, Rebecca Bready in the pole vault, and Amarie Walker, Nazya Roper, Janiah Stringer, and Jade Salmon in the 4x1 relay.

Additional Top 6 finishers include Heidi Tran who took second place in the pole vault, Shiana Susa took third place in 400 hurdles, Lauren Rone took second in 100 hurdles, Janiyah Henry took second in shot put, and Ashley O'Hara took third in the pentathlon. Janayah Henry also took fifth in the 100 hurdles, Jade Salmon second in High Jump, Kyra Pellegrino took third in the 1500m and 3000m, and Nazya Roper placed second in the Long Jump.
