GCCSD submits reopening plans, awaiting NYSED approval

Gates Chili Central School District has submitted plans for the three reopening scenarios as required by the New York State Education Department. Gates Chili submitted plans for an in-person, remote and a hybrid model instruction.

"With the current guidance in place, the district cannot implement a full, in-person return to school so we are proposing a hybrid model to begin the 2020-21 school year," said Superintendent of Schools Christopher Dailey. "Throughout this process we will continue to assess our plan with the hope of having students back in school on a full-time basis at some point down the road if allowed and safe."

After review of these plans, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo will make a final decision on reopening schools. This decision is expected to be made in early August. GCCSD will communicate the final plan with families and send out additional information regarding hybrid model placement and transportation.
