1. Red Ribbon Week - October 28- November 1, 2019. Click here for more details on Red Ribbon Week. Today's Red Ribbon theme is "Peace Out to Drugs."  Which means choosing to keep drugs out of your life Alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs are more harmful and dangerous for young people than adults. Choosing to say no to drugs can help you be healthier, physically, mentally, for many years into the future.
2. With Halloween happening this week Dr. Buckshaw wanted to take the opportunity to share what will be permitted at the MS.  Halloween is an instructional day. Students and staff are permitted to dress up if they want to. This is a personal decision and is not required.
Teachers may tell students to take off any element of a costume if it interferes with instruction and safety. For the safety of our students and staff, masks and dark glasses cannot be worn.  Face make up needs to be kept to a minimum so we can recognize people in our instructional setting.   Be mindful of any props that  could be used as a weapon or represent a toy weapon. They should not be brought to school.  Other aspects of the dress code are still in effect, except for the hats. This includes: no spaghetti straps, short skirts/shorts or visible underwear. Traditionally some students and staff have dressed up, and some have not. This has usually been a problem-free day for us, and we are looking forward to another one this year. Any student choosing to dress up will be expected to change and participate in physical education class.
