Senior Colton Crane headed to state wrestling tournament

After falling short of winning a Section V wrestling title and qualifying for the state tournament last year, Varsity Wrestling Coach Dan Maier said the goal going into this season was to win the qualifiers and place at the state tournament. His team did not disappoint. Senior Colton Crane earned himself a 37-1 record and a Section V first-place title, and is now on his way to the state tournament.

“Colton has worked extremely hard on and off the mat this year perfecting several techniques,” said Maier. “We are confident that he can earn a spot on the podium on Feb. 23.”

The 2019 NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships will be held at the Times Union Center in Albany on Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23. Gates open at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb.23 with wrestling starting at 10 a.m. On Saturday, Feb. 24 there are two sessions of admission. The Championships finals will begin at 6:30 p.m.
