MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES & INFO FOR FAMILIES
In General:

Your student’s classroom teacher is the primary contact for exploring service options.

Services are provided in many different ways.

Services may be delivered within the classroom or in another instructional area.

It is important to note that participation in any service is contingent on need, guided by district and/or state regulations.
The following staff members support students, families and teachers in promoting students’ social and emotional well-being.
Elementary Counselor: Krissy Angie- Kmangie@gateschili.org
The elementary school counselor provides students with access to resources necessary for their academic and social development.
School Nurse: Lisa Secor- Lasecor@gateschili.org
The school nurse works closely with families and classroom teachers to maintain each student's social, emotional and physical wellbeing. The school nurse spends time on health counseling with students, families, and faculty.
School Psychologist:

The school psychologist is available to assist staff and families when there are concerns in regard to a student's school progress or behavior.

Individual ability and performance tests may be administered as needed to inform the intervention plan.

The school psychologist reevaluates students receiving special education services every three years and is available for the Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings.

The school psychologist also consults with out-of- school agencies when appropriate.

The School Social Worker/Caseworker provides social/casework services for children and families.

Referrals are received from the staff and families regarding individual student and family concerns.

The social worker or caseworker may meet with students in friendship groups with the permission of their family. They may also meet with individual families and will assist in making referrals to outside counseling agencies if requested. Students who receive special education services may receive social worker/casework counseling and may work with this person during reviews.
