Meet Mrs. Kanada

  • I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1993.  After graduation, I started my career at Easter Seals of Albany, NY.  I worked with children birth to 14 providing therapy both at home and in a variety of school settings. In 1995, I took a job with Mary Cariola Children’s Center.  I worked with students from birth to 21, providing therapy in the school setting.  After working at Mary Cariola for several years and looking to expand my knowledge base in sensory processing, I took a job with OTR NY, a sensory clinic, working with children birth to 16.  In 2004 I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to move to Florida where I worked in sensory clinic in Boca Raton.  Although I truly loved my time in Florida I missed my family and returned to Rochester in 2007.  That led me to my current position in the district.  I have been with Gates Chili since November 2007 and currently I work with students at Florence Brasser Elementary.  I also work for Interactive Therapy Group on a per diem basis working with children in both the Early Intervention and Preschool programs.

On a personal note, I am married to Sean Kanada.  Sean and I are anxiously awaiting the birth of twin boys who are due in February 2010.

I enjoy hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
