Strategies for Success in Science

How about this strategy in science?

SQ3R

(SQ3R stands for Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review)

Survey - Use clues from the title, headings, pictures, graphs, charts, tables, captions, and words in bold or italic print.

Question - Ask yourself before you read the text, "what will this be about?"

Read - Read the entire text.  Reread parts which may be confusing or parts which you don't understand.

Recite - In your own words, be able to tell what you just read.

Review - Go over the text and answer your pre-reading questions.
