    The use  and coordinated muscle placement of lips, tongue, teeth, and breath to produce speech sounds.

    Classroom Implications:

    -  Speech errors noted in oral reading

    -  Spelling errors in writing

    -  Reluctance to participate in verbal activities

    -  Some students can be difficult to understand (unintelligible) out of  known context or to unfamiliar listener

      What We Do:

      -  Practice with correct structure placement

    -  Increase comprehension of sound awareness

    -  Oral-motor strengthening and exercises

    -  Skill and drill of target sound within literacy activities
