The French and Italian 8th Final Exam is an exam given to each 8th grader at the end of a two year sequence.  This exam is designed to assess each person's accumulative knowledge from 7th (1A) and 8th grade (1B) language.  Unfortunately, this exam determines the future placement for each 8th grade student.  The state has made it simple.  If the individual receives a 64% or below on this exam, he or she will not receive a high school credit and will be placed in a level one language course the following year.   On the other hand, if the individual receives a 65% or above, she or he will receive one high school credit for the two successfully completed years at the middle school (1A and 1B) and this student will also be enrolled in a level II course as a Freshman in high school.
