Short Stories: Reading Strategies

  • Unit Overview

    Throughout this unit we will read a series of short stories and look at what makes them short stories, their messages, and how to become a more effective reader.

    Unit Objectives

    • Students will review and explore the elements of the short story.
    • Students will read, discuss, and analyze multicultural experiences and perspectives as they appear in literature.
    • Students will be able to explain the importance of active reading.
    • Students will practice and apply active reading strategies.
