West Side Wailers

  • The West Side Wailers are GCHS's all men's a capella singing group.  They meet after school once a week on Mondays in the chorus room to rehearse. There is no formal audition required, and you do NOT have to be enrolled in chorus to join.  However, Mrs. Merkel will speak with each new member and heary you sing during rehearsal to help place you in the right voice part.   The West Side Wailers sing pop and other contemporary kinds of music.  They sing in four part men's harmony (TTBB).   Past songs include, "Hey Soul Sister" by Train, "Timshel" by Mumford and Sons, "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, "The Rhythm of Love" by the plain white T's, "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz,  "The Longest Time" by Billy Joel, "Brown Eyed Girl"  "Good Lovin'" "In the Still of the Night,"  "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye" by Boyz2Men, "Get a Job," "Lion Sleeps Tonight"  and "If I Ever Fall" by Shai.  The WSW perform 3-4 times a year at evening chorus concerts.  This year we hope to have some more informal performance opportunities.  Listen to the morning announcements for rehearsal times.   It's a ton of fun, and NO GIRLS ALLOWED!!
