Social Studies

We will be learning all about New York State this year!

Facts

We will begin with the Regions & Landforms of NY.

Next, we will uncover all sorts of information about the Iroquois.

Explorers to the New World comes next.

When the explorers tell their tales back in their countries many people want to come to the New World.  This leads us into the study of Colonization of NY.

Living in a new land and still being ruled by the British King does not set well with many of the settlers.  We will discuss the causes and effects of the American Revolution.

As we all know the Revolution was won by the Patriots.  Now that the colonies were free from British rule there are many questions as to how they will survive.  We will study the making of a New State and Nation

Finally, we discuss the growth and expansion of our great state, including Pioneers, Immigration, and the Erie Canal.
