2009-2010 Winter Sports Information

WINTER SPORTS BEGIN...
  • NOVEMBER 9 -  ALL VARSITY & JV SPORTS (hockey/basketball/cheerleading/wrestling) 
  • NOVEMBER 16 - ALL FRESHMAN SPORTS & INDOOR TRACK
  • NOVEMBER 30 - ALL BOYS & GIRLS 7/8 GRADE (MODIFIED B) SPORTS
  • DECEMBER 14 - BOYS & GIRLS 7/8 GRADE (MODIFIED B) SWIMMING

Students who are interested in participating in a Winter Sport can pick up the sport sign-up packets from the Athletic Office at the High School or Middle School beginning the 3rd week of October. Completed and signed medical forms should be returned to the appropriate building Health Office and "Athletic Training Rules" Forms should be returned to the Athletic Office (Middle School students can return the "Athletic Training Rules" to Mr. Carusone in the Middle School Physical Education Office prior to the sport start date. Students may not participate in a sport until all required forms are submitted. In addition, each student must have had an annual physical done by their own physician or the school health office.

Physicals
Physicals will be done BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at school!!! Students in need of a physical should make their appointment as soon as possible! If you have any questions regarding physicals for students in grades 9-12, please call the High School Health Office at (585)340-5500 ext.2210.

For grades 7 & 8 please call the Middle School Health Office for information about physicals at (585)340-5500 ext.3122.

Meetings
During the month of October & November students in the Middle School and High School should listen for morning announcements and check the school bulletin boards for information about pre-season sport meetings. These meetings are held for all students who are interested in participating in a winter sport. The meetings are held by the coaches after school and a late bus is available if needed. At these meetings the coaches will introduce themselves to the students and provide information about their sport, practices, and the sign-up process. Students are encouraged to make every effort to attend.
