About Our High School


 

The High School is made up of approximately 1700 students in grades 9-12.  Our school day follows an eight period academic schedule with each period being 46 minutes long.  The schedule is as follows:

 

Period 1   7:25 a.m. –  8:16 a.m.

Period 2   8:21 a.m. –  9:07 a.m.

Period 3   9:12 a.m. –  9:58 a.m.

Period 4  10:03 a.m. – 10:49 a.m.

Period 5  10:54 a.m. – 11:40 a.m.

Period 6  11:45 a.m. – 12:31 p.m.

Period 7  12:36 p.m. –  1:22 p.m.

Period 8   1:27 p.m. –  2:13 p.m.

 

Buses depart the school at 2:19 p.m.

 

We offer a ninth period for students who are involved with clubs, activities, sports and for students needing extra help from teachers.  This is a supervised period that runs from 2:20 p.m. – 2:55 p.m.  Late buses depart the school at 3:00 p.m.

 

 

 

Did you know…

 

·         91% of our 2009 graduating class will be attending college this fall with $5.8 million in scholarships awarded

·         89 students from our 2009 graduating class earned an Academic Varsity Letter based on their junior and senior years.  56 students earned a Chevron

·         95 students from our 2009 graduating class are members of the National Honor Society

·         our students accumulated over 10,000 Service Learning hours

·         we will offer 18 Advanced Placement courses for 2009-2010

·         we will offer 22 Dual Credit courses for 2009-2010

·         we have over 250 staff members here at the High School, 156 of those are teachers

·         our library houses approximately 19,465 books

·         we have approximately 500 computers in our classrooms

·         we serve approximately 21,000 school lunches and 3,300 breakfasts per month
