I would like to wish everyone a Happy 2012! Welcoming a new year usually causes us to stop, reflect on the past and plan ahead for a promising new year. It is the time of year that many of us take the time to develop those annual resolutions. It is that thought that leads me to decide what I can improve upon this year. Students, perhaps your resolution will be about school. Maybe you will do a better job on your homework or work harder in class. Maybe you will read more or decide to get more organized. Maybe your promise will be to listen better at home, or to “lose the attitude”. Possibly you’ll even stop fighting with your siblings, or watch less TV? At Florence Brasser, we have made goal-setting a priority for everyone. Each staff member sets goals that connect with the building goals which are directly connected to the district goals. Staff members also set personal educational goals. We will be updating our goals at the mid-year point and also have end of the year discussions about our goals. If you would like, ask your child what goals they have set and are working toward. Perhaps even share your goals or “resolutions” with them. I am very proud of our wonderful students, supportive families, and dedicated staff. Let’s keep up the good work for the next six months. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always interested in communication between school and home in regards to your most treasured resource….your child. Tim Young, Principal
