Where do visitors park during construction?
Designated visitor parking spots are available in the new west parking lot as well as the South side of the front bus loop.
Where are offices located?
The building principal’s office is located in a new area where the old girls PE entrance used to be, the nurse’s office is located in it's new space in the old V.P. office at the front of the building, and the library is still located temporarily in the new metal building attached to the east side of the high school building.
How long will the building be under construction?
It is expected that the High School construction part of the project will be complete and ready for the opening of school in September 2008.
What are some of the safety procedures in place during the construction process?
The health and safety of students, staff and visitors during construction is the District’s main priority. The High School and campus will be under surveillance 24 hours, 7 days a week. The District has also hired Safety Zone as safety consultants for the project. They will visit construction sites unannounced to ensure safe conditions. Students will be separated from construction at all times. While on the premises all contractor personnel are required to wear special identification badges. In addition, outside bathroom facilities will be available for contractor use.
May the community use the high school building while under construction?
The District would like to keep the High School available to the community as much as possible during construction. Each request will be decided independently with consideration of the location, construction status, and safety.
When will the new entrance/exit at Buffalo Road be open?
The new road is open! We now have two entrances and exits, one out to Wegman road and the new one out to Buffalo road .
When will construction begin at the other schools?
The final plans and documents for the Middle School and Elementary building projects have been approved by the NYS Education department. The construction documents are out to bid and will be opened in mid March 2008.
